July is UV Safety Month - An annual observation to highlight the importance of protecting your skin and eyes from harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Excessive sun exposure is the leading preventable risk factor for skin cancer, which is the most common cancer in the U.S.

Keep your skin & eyes protected with these tips:

Use Sunscreen: Apply a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher 15–30 minutes before going outside. Reapply every two hours, or after swimming or sweating.
Seek Shade: Avoid peak sun hours between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. when UV rays are strongest.
Cover Up: Wear tightly-woven sun-protective clothing, including long-sleeved shirts, pants, and wide-brimmed hats.
